A very Happy Birthday goes out to a special little boy, who turned one.
This cake consists of two, four layer tiers. The top tier is a chocolate cake with banana frosting and the bottom tier is a french vanilla cake with a whipped cream and fresh strawberry filling. The cake is covered in a butter cream fondant and is accented in butter cream fondant paisleys and cow print.
Every element on the cake is edible right down to the piglet, calf and chickens, which are all made from butter cream fondant as well. The number “1” is made from gum paste.
This “smash” cow cake is a single layer, cut in half, chocolate cake with banana frosting.
The ears, muzzle, eyes and horns are made from gum paste and the ears have been airbrushed with a light pink coloring.
These cakes were truly a joy to make and it gave me a chance to create my first fully detailed figurines.
