This 2 tier, 4 layer Chocolate cake was created in honor of the North Idaho Violence Prevention Center Quarter Auction.
The top tier are two 6in chocolate cakes with cream cheese frosting. The barrel boards are created out of gum paste and are held together with fondant ribbons. The leaves, pumpkins, sun flowers and mouse are created from fondant as well.
The base tier is created with two 8in chocolate cakes and cream cheese frosting. The tier is covered in green Buttercream fondant. The fence boards are created out of gum paste like the barrel boards. All the draping leaves, mini pumpkins and mini sun flowers are created out of fondant.
I loved creating this cake and be able to mix all the leaves in a bowl, grabbing out handfuls and letting them fall into place added another element of perfection and naturalism to the final cake.
